We study advanced carbon nanomaterials and 2D nanosheets—such as carbon nanotubes, graphene, and inorganic layered materials—and use a chemical engineering lens to turn them into high‑performance, multifunctional materials.
Our work focuses on how these nanomaterials behave in liquids and under electric fields, enabling new routes to multifunctional composites, films, and additive‑manufactured structures. Research themes include: nanosheet synthesis and exfoliation, polymer–nanomaterial interfaces, microstructure–rheology coupling, electrothermal processing and reactor design, and scalable manufacturing of industrial nanomaterials.
We aim to bridge fundamental science and real‑world impact—from carbon nanomaterials for energy and environmental applications to process innovations that lower cost and emissions, such as low‑temperature catalytic routes to synthetic graphite.
